Swimwear is the Indy 500 of performance foundation wear. Nowhere else is it required of a single garment to withstand chlorine and salt, retain shape while wet, dry quickly, provide a wide range of motion, minimum underwater drag, maximum opacity, reasonable durability, hide women's figure flaws, emphasize our assets, feel comfortable and display a modicum of fashion style -- all in under two square feet of fabric. That's not even taking into account the unquantifiable amount of self esteem that a flattering suit can generate. The only thing modern swimwear doesn't do is cook dinner and take out the trash!

Let's face it: most women won't venture near a pool or beach if they dont' have a swim suit they like. Although that constitutes different things for different people, some aspects are predictable. Petite-chested women want close-fitting tops that don't gap when they move. Full-busted swimmers want support for their breasts and substance in the straps. Luckily the internet makes accessible more options than department stores. It doesn't take any less time than for a regular-sized woman to find the right suit, but chances are better that you'll find something that will give you enough confidence to get out there and enjoy the water.
